Bud’s Collective is a powerful group of pickers from the hills of West Virginia. When fate, family and music become one, you find the Low Low Chariot. Singer-songwriter JD Sutphin toured for years with his rock outfit, Madrone, gaining thousands of fans and even radio support. But even with their success, his maternal grandmother told him repeatedly “Country music is gonna find you.” And one fateful Christmas it did, in a decades old stack of songs unearthed by his family, written by his own grandfather who died on July 4th, 1974, before he could record them.JD’s grandfather, Jim Freeman, an incredibly accomplished musician in his own right, toured with bluegrass greats Ralph Stanley and Bill Monroe.

After studying music composition and performance at Salisbury University, David migrated from the small-town atmosphere of his youth on the Eastern Shore of Maryland to the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area, where he has since been playing music for a living. He now performs regularly along the mid-Atlantic region of the US, occasionally touring in other parts of the country as well. In the process, he has developed a strong fan base and attracted attention from many well-known names in the music industry and beyond, from Performing Songwriter magazine to Dean Dinning of Toad the Wet Sprocket to Ben Stein.

As a young child, Ricardo (Richard) was introduced to the guitar by his father, the eminent classical guitarist John E. Marlow. He went on to receive a degree from the James Madison School of Music (James Madison University) in 1997. Mr. Marlow subsequently took up the flamenco guitar and studied with master, Gerardo Núñez, in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Spain, and continues to do so yearly since 1999. In 1997 Mr. Marlow began playing professionally as a guitarist for the Arte Flamenco Dance Company and in venues such as The Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage and the Baltimore Museum of Art, among others.

Tiffany Rose Shanta began playing violin and piano at a very young age. She comes from a musical family, having first been taught by her mother, an accomplished harpist, before being under the tutelage of world renowned violinist and conductor, Luis Haza. She toured in France and Germany, and performed at Carnegie Hall. For many years now, Tiffany has performed for weddings and special events in the Washington, DC and surrounding areas. Some of her past clients and venues include: The King of Saudi Arabia, the Library of Congress, The National Press Club, The Kennedy Center, The Smithsonian.

Lucy Black Entertainment is a women and musician-owned, bespoke luxury events company based in the Washington, D.C. area, and available worldwide. Jill started DJing in 2003 for Associated Consultants, for schools, nightclubs, weddings & corporate events! She has been the DJ for Linedanceforyou, an organization that teaches line dances of all styles, since 2006, which serves the Northern Va. area on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Because Jill is also a professional musician, she is made constantly aware of all genres of music, by engaging with the public 7 days a week. She can easily play a night of Latino, trap, country, oldies, and current dance tunes but also has a children’s library of songs for school events.

Now based in Washington DC, Eli has been traveling the globe for two decades and weaving his experiences into fresh folk anthems of personal empowerment, natural awareness, and finding one’s place in the world.Rooted in the Americana tradition, Eli’s influences range from the flamenco progressions of Andalusia, Spain, enchanting minor chords from Israel and the Middle East, and powerful melodies from the southwestern United States. Nickoli Andrews is I&I Riddim’s dynamic lead vocalist. This spirited singer’s love for music is rooted in Kingston Jamaica where he was born, and in Westmoreland where he was raised. Nickoli is known for his passionate high energy performances. He is a true entertainer and composer who excites and electrifies his audiences with tunes from a variety of music genres, but his true love is rockin’ the reggae.

The Archives began when Thievery Corporation’s Eric Hilton began a quest to explore the roots of reggae music. Led by producer/ keyboard ace Darryl “D-Trane” Burke, all members have recorded and toured internationally with acts like Eek-A-Mouse, Black Uhuru, Culture, Don Carlos and more,” Burke explains. “We weave together the best of foundation reggae roots, rock steady, early dub and dancehall influences.

With a father who loves Miles Davis and a mother who adores Smokey Robinson, Cecily grew up surrounded by the music in her parents vast record collection, and was captivated by the works of Minnie Riperton, Gil Scott-Heron, Anita Baker, and Phyllis Hyman. After college, Cecily looked to these rich, soulful sounds from her childhood, and channeled them into her own music. Known for her sweet soprano, honest lyrics and pure vocals, Cecily brings her own vulnerability to each song, telling her story, and hopes that, at the end, the audience feels vulnerable enough to tell their own stories.
